Welcome to the 2022 Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sew Along!
I am so excited you’re here because there is nothing better than sewing along with friends – both old and new!
I am hosting this sew along because quilting along with friends gives you the inspiration and motivation to actually get things done.
So many times I have started and abandoned projects because the inspiration was there, but I stalled out when I either hit a snag or just could not muster up the motivation to finish.

I know that TOGETHER we are going to tackle this beautiful quilt in 2022!
To get started, here are a few things you should know!
What is the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Quilt?
The Farm Girl Vintage 2 (FGV2) quilt was designed by Lori Holt (also known as Bee Lori Holt).
She is a quilt and fabric designer genius (check our some of her Riley Blake collections here)and this is her second Farm Girl Quilt book.
The Farm Girl Vintage 2 sampler quilt is a combination of twenty (20) 12-inch blocks and thirty (30) 6-inch blocks.
The quilt appears to be complicated, but her instructions and the photos in her book make it so easy to follow along.
The finished quilt is 88.5”’ x 95.5” and it is a colorful beauty!
The Farm Girl Vintage 2 book also has other fun projects such as mini quilts, pillows, and a pincushion.
How will this Sew Along work?
The official Farm Girl Vintage sew along begin on January 10, 2022.
Each week you will receive an email with that week’s block assignment. For the most part we will sew 2 blocks each week.
I will send out the assignment and some fabric inspiration to your inbox each week.

By the end of that week, the goal is to get your assignment completed and share with your fellow Farm Girl Vintage 2 friends.
Share your success!
Sharing is the fun part and I hope you don’t miss out on this step!
You can either link up to your blog, Instagram, a photo – or however you choose to share! I have created private Facebook group called The Lucy Bird Sew Along | Farm Girl Vintage 2 . Please join and share here!
I will of course be posting my progress here on the blog as well as on my Instagram page and in the private Facebook group.

I hope you find inspiration and motivation!
What do I need to start the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sew Along?
At a minimum, you need the book and you need background fabric and variety of colorful fabric scraps.
If you plan to make the entire quilt, then you will need 5 yards of background fabric. You can choose anything you like, but some great choices are either plain white or something with a little design in it.
You also need some basic quilting supplies.

Along the way I’ll show you some tools and gadgets that will be helpful for this project and I’ll show you how I maximize my time each week.
For now, get your sewing room tidied up, grab a fresh needle for your machine, and gather up the book and some supplies!
Let’s meet up again next week!
I have never made one of Lori’s quilts and was trying to decide it I should make 1 or 2. I know 1 has flying geese around the edge, which are only ok. The quilt you have on the table is beautiful!
I have made both and each are incredible! Her designs are so good!
