Welcome back to the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sew Along!
We are sewing our way through Bee Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Vintage 2 Quilt.
It’s week #2 and I hope that you are finding your stride!

If you’re just finding this sew along, there is still time to join in!
We are only sewing 2 blocks each week, which means there is definitely time to catch up and get involved in our mini Farm Girl community where we share progress each week.
The first week’s assignment were the Autumn Pumpkin and Baked With Love blocks.

This week the assignment was the Barn Cat & the Bright Zinnia. If you are interested in receiving the weekly prompts, be sure to sign up for my emails and make sure you add me as an approved sender so they go to your inbox and not your spam folder.

Barn Cat Quilt Block
I immediately knew I wanted to make the Barn Cat block in 12 inches because I decided all of the animals will be in 12 inches.

My Barn Cat sat finished for over a week and I kept avoiding the step of embroidering on the nose, whiskers and eyes.
Finally I decided to pull out some embroidery floss and a needle!
In last week’s email I said that one of my goal’s for this is to try new colors, so I stepped outside of my comfort zone and did a purple nose and whiskers.

I LOVE how it turned out!
Bright Zinnia
The Bright Zinnia block came together quickly and is so cute and perky. I had this block cut out early in the week and stored it on my DIY design board.
I think the actual sewing time on this was 15 minutes or less, so it goes to show that a little planning ahead early in the week leads to getting it done.

Here is my final Zinnia block. Makes me anxious for spring!
