Good morning December! . Well, at least we all mad

Good morning December!
.
Well, at least we all made it to the twinkle lights. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that twinkle matters!
.
I love these days leading up to Christmas more than I like the day itself.
.
I love decking the halls and searching for gifts.
.
I love the touches I add to the house to make it extra cozy.
.
I love the intentional time I spend documenting this month via a special scrapbook I make annually.
.
The food, the drinks, the gathering of family and friends. It’s the best ❤️
I hope these 25 days are extra joyful for you! You deserve it! We all do!
.
Do something today to put a little sparkle in your life and a skip in your step! Maybe buy someone coffee? Maybe buy yourself a pedicure! Or maybe relax with a cup of coffee by your tree!

Back when scrapbooking was a big thing, my sister

Back when scrapbooking was a big thing, my sister and some friends of ours would go to the midnight crops at the store.
.
One friend had this thing where she would buy ALLLLL of the embellishments and then figure out a way to use every single one on her page.
.
My sister was what we called “quality control” because she would be the one to honestly say, “I think you need to remove 13 buttons, 2 stickers, 9 bows, and the pom pom garland and then this page will be perfect!”
.
Decorating my craft room has felt a bit like those scrapbooking days.
.
I do not even want to tell you how many coordinating gnomes I made 🙆🏼‍♀️.
.
Let’s just say the answer is 6. You twisted it out of me. I made 6. I officially have a “gnome in my home” problem.
.
SOMEONE SEND QUALITY CONTROL PLEASE!!
.
But somehow my gnome home seems better than people who have their elf in quarantine. Just saying.

Our weekend has been UBER low key so I have been Christmas crafting like a son of a gun!

Seriously, i played with felt, yarn, fabric, pom poms, paper, paint, stickers, twine, glue, and paper.
.
NO SUPPLY WAS LEFT BEHIND!

I’ll take some photos tomorrow, but in the meantime I need to get this block of the month posted before the calendar hits December.

This was my first block in the mystery quilt along that I signed up through The Pin Cushion.

Happy Thanksgiving! Instead of turkey and stuffing

Happy Thanksgiving! Instead of turkey and stuffing we are planning on mimosas and waffles for brunch and homemade lasagna for dinner.

Things are a bit different this year, but I am so looking forward to a relaxing day of sewing, naps and I’m sure a “sniffing” walk for the puppers.
.
Wishing you health and relaxation and time to think about your blessings!

Christmas in the craft room looks like I coordinated my colors with Lisa Frank.

“Hey Lisa! It’s Steph! Can I borrow the color scheme from your Trapper Keeper circa 1992?”
.
If something was pink, red, green or teal, it got gathered onto a pile so I could see my options.
.
If it wasn’t pink, red, green or teal, it got put next to paint 😬
.
Still a few details to go, but so far love-love-loving it!!

Upstairs is a bit more traditional (swipe).

This is foam! Inexpensive and brightly colored foam! The Maker cut it perfectly with the knife blade.

I’m already in love with my cheap (ahem cough) ....I mean INEXPENSIVE banner!

Big plans today to deck these halls!! Eeeks! I took everything down, gave it a scrub and have big plans to make my craft room super duper festive!

Last night was HAPPY MAIL NIGHT!

I finally have in my hands the new book from @thimbleblossoms and @bonniecottonway as well as some of the fabric from their new Shine On line!
.
I am going to be completing this quilt as a block of the month through @fatquartershop !
.
This is the 2nd quilt along I am starting this month, so November must officially be my time for starting big projects!
.
I know some people don’t enjoy a quilt along because you have to cut each month versus just getting that out of the way, but I love them because with limited time it makes a large project feel manageable! What about you? Love or hate?

Like a weird combination of the games “Pick Up Stick” (pins - do you get my pun?!) and Jenga?

It’s like trying to undo the madness and yet one Jenga piece can topple the whole thing.
